Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 July 2026
The short version. If you fill in our form or book a call, we use your name, phone number and email for one thing: to have a conversation with you about estate planning. We don't sell your data. You can tell us to stop at any time and we will.
1. Who we are

2. What we collect
We only collect what we need to speak with you.
| Data | How we get it |
|---|---|
| Your name | You give it to us via our enquiry form, our booking calendar, WhatsApp, email or over the phone. |
| Your phone number | As above. |
| Your email address | As above. |
| Your preferred time to be called | Our enquiry form. |
| The content of our conversations | Messages you send us by WhatsApp, SMS or email, and notes we make during calls. |
| Website usage data | Cookies and similar technologies — only if you consent. See section 6. |
We do not ask for financial details, ID documents or details of your assets through this website. If we need that information later, we will collect it separately and tell you how it will be used.
3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
| What we do | Lawful basis (UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Contact you to arrange and hold your free 15-minute consultation. | Legitimate interests — you asked us to get in touch, and responding to that request is what you would reasonably expect. |
| Send you follow-up emails and text messages about that consultation if we haven't managed to reach you. | Legitimate interests, and where required, your consent. Every message includes a way to stop them. |
| Keep records of our conversations with you. | Legitimate interests — running our business properly and being able to evidence what was discussed. |
| Measure which advertising brings people to this website. | Your consent, given through our cookie banner. You can decline, and the site works exactly the same. |
| Meet our legal and regulatory obligations. | Legal obligation. |
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data, and we never will.
We share it only with service providers who help us run the business. They act on our instructions and cannot use your data for their own purposes:
- HighLevel (LeadConnector) — our customer relationship management system. This is where your enquiry is stored and where our emails and text messages to you are sent from.
- Google — for email delivery (Gmail) and, where you have consented, website analytics and advertising measurement.
- Vercel — hosts this website.
- Meta (WhatsApp) — if you choose to message us on WhatsApp, that conversation is carried over Meta's platform and subject to their privacy terms as well as ours.
Some of these providers are based outside the UK. Where your data is transferred internationally, it is protected by UK-approved safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.
We may also disclose data if we are legally required to — for example, by a court order.
5. The footer disclaimer, explained
You may notice our footer says your details "with consent, may be shared with selected product providers." To be clear about what that means: we will only ever pass your details to a third-party provider if you have asked us to, or explicitly agreed, as part of arranging a product or service for you. We will not share your details with anyone for their own marketing purposes. If you would rather we didn't share them at all, tell us and we won't.
6. Cookies and tracking
When you first arrive, we ask whether you're happy for us to use analytics and advertising cookies. We do not set them unless you say yes.
We use Google Tag Manager with Google Consent Mode v2. If you decline, no analytics or advertising cookies are set and no data is shared with advertising platforms. The only technologies we use without asking are those strictly necessary to make the site work and remember your cookie choice.
Why we use them at all: so we can see which adverts actually bring people here, and stop paying for the ones that don't. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which will make the banner appear again.
7. How long we keep it
- If you enquire but never become a client: we keep your details for 24 months from your last contact with us, then delete them. If you ask us to delete them sooner, we will.
- If you become a client: we keep records for 7 years after our relationship ends, to meet our legal and professional obligations.
- If you tell us to stop contacting you: we keep a minimal record of that instruction indefinitely — because that's the only way to make sure we honour it.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Be told what data we hold about you and get a copy of it.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Have it deleted, where we have no overriding reason to keep it.
- Restrict or object to how we use it — including objecting to direct marketing, which is an absolute right. If you object to marketing, we stop. No questions asked, no delay.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is what we relied on.
- Data portability — receive your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these, email help@linkinglegacy.com or call 01932 977 962. We'll respond within one month.
To stop our text messages immediately, reply STOP to any of them. To stop our emails, use the unsubscribe link in any email.
9. Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first — we'd rather put it right. Email help@linkinglegacy.com.
You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office, at any time:
- Website: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint
- Helpline: 0303 123 1113
10. Security
Your data is transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored in access-controlled systems. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable and proportionate steps to protect your information, and we will tell you and the ICO if a breach ever puts you at risk.
11. Children
This website and our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll tell you directly.
